salmon fishing at skjern-å

In the middle of the River Skjern’s most productive fishing waters, and only a two-minute walk from both Skjernådalens Angling Association’s and Borris Angling Association’s fishing areas, lies Skjern Å Lodge “Reden”.

From the kitchen, you can see several of the river’s most reliable fishing spots, for example “Laksetrappen” (The Salmon Ladder), which is where the old rapid was located before the river restoration. The salmon seem not to have forgotten the spot, even though today it is only a distinct current seam.

The house has been renovated over the winter, and with passion and dedication a true gem for anglers – created by anglers – has been brought to life.

The large house offers 3 double rooms and 2 single rooms. It features a double living room en suite with a wood-burning stove, dining area, flat-screen TV, cozy corner, and a fly-tying station. In addition, besides a new kitchen and bathroom, the house also includes a utility room and the heart of the house: the “Rodhouse”, where each day’s fishing trip both begins and ends.

In the Rodhouse there is space for rods on the wall, fishing gear and waders, but also room simply to sit, relax and warm up by the house’s second wood-burning stove.

The house is decorated with fishing photos and drawings which make the fishing holiday experience complete. Because even when you are not fishing and are just in the house, you will feel the pulse of the river.
